drawing dimensions 11 Dec 2013 23:02 #663

so I'm a little confused. The figure on drawing one shows a wingspan of 44 ft, which would mean a STA tip of 264, yet the spar layout on drawing 7 shows the wing tip at 256.5... Which is it? Seems like there is nothing outboard of 256.5, which means the wingspan should actually be 42.75 Ft. Am I missing something?

For the fat dragon (code name), I'm basically adding a section inboard which will put the outboard edge of the wing at 276. The outboard rib is the same (22 inch width), with the inboard rib at 65 inch. Total area is up 14%, and the wingspan at 46 ft. Basically it's the same wing moved outboard so the basic wing is OK and the new section will have to be sized. Of course with the carbon rods it will be a little different, but generally the same layout (ribs slightly closer spacing. For those continplating wood, the loads could be used to calculate the necessary spar cap area.
