by the way, no reason that the flap can't have a notch at the tail -- a second look at the Arc showed a notch where the boom is.


Also, did anyone else notice that only about every third rib is full-depth? That would be worth some weight -- just a little stiffener to hold contour at those locations that didn't have a rib.

On the flaps question...

According to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maupin_Carbon_Dragon:

"The flaperons can deploy from −5° to +15° as flaps and −4° to +16° as ailerons, with a 4:1 differential."
